Producing bottled water and disposing of the bottles will harm the environment. Bottled water is far more expensive than tap water or a reusable water filter and study’s also say that bottled water is healthier compared to tap water.

Huge multinational companies are making billions of dollars on water that they extract from the ground, slap a label on and sell at competitive prices. Examples of these companies include: Aquafina, Dasani, Perrier, Evian, and Fiji Water etc.Ìý

According to the reports, in India, the domestic bottled water market including organised and unorganised players is estimated at Rs 8,000 crore, and expected to grow to Rs 10,000 crore by 2013 and the bottled water market which has been growing at a CAGR of 19%, is expected to continue its growth momentum and grow over four-folds to Rs 36,000 crore by 2020.Ìý
