Indonesia, also called as the Republic of Indonesia, is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The country is famous throughout the world for its islands and beautiful landscapes and is the world's fourth most populous nation. Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies of the world and is a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).Ìý

The textile and apparel manufacturing industry in Indonesia is the 14th rank in the world. Indonesia has an economy that is based on four main industries; they are the sale of natural resources, the production and sale of agricultural produce, the manufacturing of finished goods, and tourism. Economy of Indonesia is mainly based on agriculture and oil. Approximately 90% of the population is engaged in agriculture. Hence, the country can be rightly considered an agrarian economy. Even export earnings from oil and natural gas has also helped the economy.But, the lack of development in the health industry and in transportation, along with corruption, is the biggest obstacle to the country’s economic growth.Some of Indonesia's major exports are crude oil and natural gas, tropical hardwood, plywood and timber products, textiles and rubber.Some of Indonesia's major imports are machinery and equipment, chemicals and fuels, and food.
