Monopulse radar is a radar system that accurately measures the angle of a target by simultaneously receiving and processing multiple echo signals. Its core technology is to use the amplitude or phase difference within the same pulse to achieve high-precision angle measurement. This radar usually uses a multi-channel antenna (such as a sum-and-difference beam antenna) to radiate a unified beam during transmission, and quickly calculates the azimuth and elevation deviations of the target relative to the radar axis by comparing the amplitude or phase difference of the echo signals of different beams (such as the sum beam and the difference beam) during reception. Compared with traditional conical scanning radars, monopulse radars are not affected by target amplitude modulation, have higher angle measurement accuracy and stronger anti-interference ability, and are particularly suitable for scenarios that require real-time tracking of high-speed or highly maneuverable targets. Its technical principles can be divided into amplitude comparison monopulse (using the amplitude difference of echoes from different beams) and phase comparison monopulse (using phase difference). It is widely used in aerospace tracking, missile guidance, air traffic control, meteorological monitoring and other fields, and is an important technical basis for modern precision tracking radars.
