

A radionuclide metering instrument is an instrument specifically used to measure the activity of radioactive substances. Radioactive substances refer to substances with unstable atomic nuclei, which spontaneously emit rays (such as α rays, β rays, γ rays, etc.) to achieve a more stable state. Activity is a measurement of the number of radioactive decay events per unit time, usually in Becquerels (Bq). Nuclide metering instruments detect and count decay events emitted by radionuclides through detectors. These detectors can be solid, liquid or gaseous, and common ones include Geiger-Müller tubes, scintillator detectors, etc. Based on the number of decay events measured by the detector and the measurement time, the instrument calculates the activity of the radioactive material.
