
NVDIMM (Non-Volatile Dual In-line Memory Module) is a new type of memory module that has both volatile DRAM and non-volatile NAND. NVDIMM usually integrates non-volatile NAND flash memory with DRAM, and integrates a dedicated backup power supply on a single memory subsystem. NVDIMM uses a DIMM package, is compatible with standard DIMM slots, and communicates via a standard DDR bus. Considering its non-volatility and compatibility with traditional DRAM interfaces, it is also called Persistent Memory.
