The reflective polarizer LCD module is mainly composed of an LCD screen and a reflective polarizer. The LCD screen is responsible for controlling the propagation path of light, while the reflective polarizer is responsible for reflecting ambient light back into the user's eyes to display the image. This module does not require an additional backlight source, but uses ambient light for illumination, so it has the advantages of low power consumption, light weight, and thin thickness. Ambient light (such as sunlight, office lights, etc.) enters the module through the glass sheet on the front of the LCD screen. The light entering the module first passes through the first layer of polarizer and is converted into linear polarized light. These polarized lights then pass through the liquid crystal layer, and the direction of the liquid crystal molecules modulates the polarization state of the light. The light modulated by the liquid crystal layer reaches the reflective polarizer. The reflective polarizer has a special structure that can reflect back the light that is consistent with its polarization axis direction, while the light that is perpendicular to the polarization axis direction is absorbed. In this way, only light in a specific direction can be reflected back into the user's eyes. The reflected light passes through the liquid crystal layer and the first layer of polarizer again, and finally reaches the observer's eyes. Due to the different directions of the liquid crystal molecules, the polarization state of light in different areas is also different, forming images with different brightness and darkness.
